Come Together 2021

Exactly one year later with some changes in the roster, The Paperback Writers, now 13, have returned home triumphantly from their second successful, now 6-song performance at the annual Come Together Festival. The set list was double the amount of songs they did last time, and in order included the following originals: "Drenched In The Rain", "Walking On Train Tracks", "Nothing's Gonna Keep Us Down", "Buried In Gold", "Space Dream", and "What Do You Know", each having their own special exclusive live version that may have differed slightly, or heavily (depending on the song), from the actual recordings, mainly just subtle improvisations. For your information, each time The Paperback Writers attend Come Together, there will always be a new unreleased mystery track, as they did with "Nothing's Gonna Keep Us Down" the last year. This time, their special song was Buried In Gold, which is to be recorded in a real studio and published onto YouTube in a matter of time, along with another track, as both are to be released as a single. Unfortunately, we do not have as many photos of our performance at Come Together 2021 as we did last year (only half), however, we do have a professionally filmed video of our "Buried In Gold" performance, which is available to view on our YouTube channel, which is accessible by either searching up "The Paperback Writers" on YouTube, or clicking on the red YouTube icon down . Nonetheless, regardless of the lack of photos, we can assure you that it was much larger than last time and lots of fun, and we really appreciate all those who could attend this great event!

Come Together 2020

Early in the band's journey, they were invited to play at the local Come Together Festival. Little info in the festival: it is named after a song called "Come Together", not by The Beatles, but by a band called Primal Scream, and the festival is dedicated to suicide prevention. Also, it takes place in an area known as Edendale Farm. The band immediately started rehearsing. Since they had pretty much only just started, they decided to do 3 songs on the youth stage. They started working on "Walking On Train Tracks" and "Stranger". It was only later when they found out that the festival was to raise money to help suicide prevention. When one of the band members heard this, he went straight to working on a song called "Nothing's Gonna Keep Us Down". Unlike the others, this song wasn't on YouTube and it would end up being the second last released on their debut album, Mirror. Everything was going well, and the band didn't seem to be nervous, although one day at band practice, one of the band member's father was on the phone with the founder of the festival. The founder was saying that the youth stage had been cancelled due to issues with the COVID-19 Pandemic. So long story short, The Paperback Writers were to be squeezed in and they were going to be opening the entire festival itself on the main stage. It ended up all going to plan, opening with Walking On Train Tracks, then Stranger, and then wrapping it up with the closing track, Nothing's Gonna Keep Us Down. Hey, for a small bunch of 12 year olds playing their first gig, being the first performers on a stage that wasn't initially planned for them, I wouldn't say it was too bad.
